Hart happy with Hitch's guidance

Joe Hart has revealed that goalkeeping coach Kevin Hitchcock has already struck up a great working relationship with his charges after arriving at City in the summer.

Kevin moved to City in the wake of Mark Hughes’ appointment as manager and now oversees not just Joe but Kasper Schmeichel and Richard Martin.

He is the third goalkeeping coach that Joe has worked with since arriving at City from Shrewsbury Town in May 2006, but the England international has nothing but praise for all the mentors he has worked for.

Joe says, “He’s great and we all love working with him. I’ve been very lucky with my goalkeeping coaches, from Shrewsbury Town I had Dave Timmins and when I first came to City it was Tim Flowers, who fantastic to work with. Then Eric Steele came here, he really pushed me on and I’ve still got a great relationship with him even though he left in the summer.

“Now Hitch has come in and has been a breath of fresh air. He’s great to work with, I genuinely love coming in every day and working with him, it's so good.”

The 21-year-old accepts that all three of his coaches at City have been very different in the personalities and approaches, but everything they do has added to the end product.

“They’ve all had our best interests at heart. That’s why I said I’ve been lucky because every single one has been willing to work for 25 hours a day for us and would do anything for their goalies. We treat them with the same respect and it work really well.”
