Hart was largely unemployed against Harry Redknapp’s FA Cup winners and admitted: “It was just as enjoyable for me to watch as I’m sure it was for everyone in the Stadium – apart from the Portsmouth fans.
“It was great and I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve never been involved in anything like that so it was good to watch.
“They were brilliant on Sunday and everyone as a team were excellent – it all came together.”
Just as pleasing for the 21-year-old stopper was the fact he kept a fourth clean sheet of the season and revealed that even with the Blues cruising through the afternoon he was still on his guard.
“I’ve got to convince myself that no matter what the score is, even if it’s 10-0, it’s a pride thing and there’s not a chance that I want anyone scoring in my net,” he stated.
“I’m sure that was the case for Pablo, Javi, Micah and Dunnie on the day. As long as the boys do the business up the other end then it’s our job to keep doing it at our end."
And he had no problem with having to watch from 70 yards away as the goals flew in at the other end while he took it easy. “I’m quite happy watching from the back," he said. "I come out and have a little snoop every now and again, come out of my area and see what’s going on, but I’m quite happy to be doing my bit at the other end.
“I’m sure there’ll be games when I’ll be called upon and hopefully repay the favour.”
With the games still coming thick and fast, Hart will have plenty of chances to repay the favour after virtually being given the afternoon off by the attacking force in front of him, but that’s something he’s more than happy about.
“The games just keep coming and you can’t help but enjoy all of them, every single one," Joe added.
“I was talking to Kasper about it and when you look at them there’s something to prove or something to gain from every single game.
“So just keep them coming as far as I’m concerned and hopefully I can keep my place, keep involved because there’s good things happening at this Club.”
