'Anything can happen,' claims Omonia coach

AC Omonia coach Nedim Dudic is hoping to take advantage of the Blues' recent Carling Cup penalty upset at Brighton as he plots their downfall in tonight's UEFA Cup First Round second leg tie at the City of Manchester Stadium.

The Cypriot side have more of a mountain to climb though as they look to overturn the 2-1 first leg deficit, but the Bosnian coach insists his team still have a chance.

Speaking at Omonia's pre-match press conference yesterday, Dudic declared: "We have one chance of causing a huge upset and we will do our best. This is football and anything can happen.

"I heard about Manchester City's defeat by Brighton. That was a big surprise. Perhaps we can learn their secret and get a similar result.”

And Omonia, who have won all three of their league games 2-0 this season, know that scoreline would be enough to see them through to the group stages of the competition.

Dudic added: "It would be a very important victory and a historic moment for the club. It would be tremendous for everyone involved.

"I believe in my players and what I am doing. If City give us space we will try to push and press them.

"Of course it is a difficult game for us but don't forget we created a few chances in the first leg."
