Wednesday night's game, to be played at Hyde United's Ewen Fields ground, will see a Blues side drawn largely from players nurtured at the Club's acclaimed Academy.
Looking at the talent produced by Platt Lane that he is now working with, Glyn told us: "City is, I would have thought, the envy of most Premier League clubs. Winning the Youth Cup last season underlines that fact along with the players, like Johnson, Ireland and Richards that have come through.
"That speaks for itself, as do the ones that have been sold on. It's great to have that quality when there seems to be a conveyor belt of talent coming through. If you're a young lad and you have the chance of coming to City, you know that you will be given the best chance to succeed here."
Having arrived at City in the summer, Glyn is looking to keep the conveyor belt running through to first team level with a development programme to help the reserves make that step up to the next level.
Glyn continues, "Years ago, and even now for some people, the reserve side was seen as a graveyard shift for the players who can't get in the senior side or are caught in-between. I think it has taken on a new role, millions are invested in academies, players then move into the reserves and the development goes on. There should be a seamless transition right through to the first team.
"That means there should be programmes for development like playing in the lower leagues and then beyond, and I really want to push these boys here with a programme that will help them kick on.
"Everyone knows the job that Jim Cassell has done at the Academy, they have produced some fantastic players and I am more than happy to take on any players they send on to us. All these lads have a great work ethic and the right attitudes over where they want to succeed and improve, they are a delight to work with."
Wednesday night's reserve derby kicks off at Hyde United's Ewen Fields ground at 7.00pm.
