UEFA opponents have their say

Following Tuesday's UEFA Cup draw, we've rounded up what our Group A opponents have been saying.

Schalke general manager Andreas Muller has singled out Manchester City as the main danger in their UEFA Cup group and he told the club's official website:

"On paper I consider Manchester City to be the strongest opponents. They have a quality team and signed two very good players in the summer in Robinho and Jo."

FC Twente's Steve McClaren: "I've just come back to England to catch up on football here, and the signings Man City have made are massive and they are expected to do very well. It should be a fantastic occasion for us.

"We had a fantastic night last Thursday, beating Rennes (to reach the group phase). We've taken the club into an area they have never been before, and hopefully things can only get better.

"We are a young side, inexperienced, especially in Europe, but we will just enjoy it. It is about the future for these young players.

"We are realistic and we will most probably not win the UEFA Cup, but for the fans, the club and the players these games will be fantastic experiences."

Francisco Pernía (President of Racing Santander): "For Racing Santander, this represents a great opportunity to compare to other clubs quality. Of course this group A will not be easy, but you have to play matches and believe "

Paris St Germain manager Paul Le Guen says: "I'm happy with the draw because we'll be playing some prestigious teams, it's a chance to play in some big stadiums, against some big teams. This group phase is going to be tough. Schalke 04 are a truly great opponent who played in the Champions League last season. Manchester City, have spent a fair bit of money recently and are very dangerous. They have a strong Brazilian flavour with Robinho, Jô and Elano."

And PSG's president Charles Villeneuve adds: "It's a complicated and interesting draw. We have real ambitions in the UEFA Cup and we will try everything to qualify for the finals."
