Boss looking for good deals in January

Mark Hughes says that City won’t pay over the odds when it comes to the next transfer window.

The Blues Manager is looking to strengthen his squad and give himself more options once January comes around, and he is confident that the Club will not tolerate potential sellers trying to bump up their asking prices given the resources at City’s fingertips.

Mark tells us, “There may be the danger that prices go up because it is Manchester City that are interested, but I think that people will understand that we won’t get ripped off. The owner and the chairman are very astute businessmen, and they know the value of a good deal so they are not going to be taken for a ride.

“They understand the value of players and what it will take to make deals happen, and that needs to be remembered when dealing with them.”

City will be looking far and wide for new targets, but Mark also accepts that there are a host of factors that will affect whether new players will want to make any move to City, so with that in mind he will do everything he can to get the right people in.

He adds, “There are a lot of factors that will affect whether or not we can get the players that we want, but we are aware of those and we’ll work with them. We hope that the right ones will be available and that we will be able to bring them here.

“Player acquisition is not an exact science, you try to do your homework and ensure that everything goes through. Even the best-laid plans get compromised at the last minute and then don’t go through, but we are going to make sure we do everything that we can to bring in the players that I know will help us.”
