The event at the Midland Hotel in Manchester was designed to highlight the contribution to football in England that the North West makes – CITC’s Getting Manchester Moving Health project was also shortlisted for best community project.
CITC’s Executive Manager. Alex Williams MBE said: “Community work isn’t really about winning awards but it’s great to see the hard work of the community team being recognised at such an event.
“I would like to thank all those organisations who support us – in particular the football club, the PFA, the Premier League and the Football Foundation.”
The award follows more success for CITC after its Kickz project was named best in the country at a recent ceremony at Wembley.
For more information please contact CITC on 0161 438 7711 or e-mail citc@mcfc.co.uk.
There were a few more sore heads at City this morning, with the Club picking up the award for 'Best innovative use of a football ground on a non match day' at the same ceremony. Congratulations to all those involved!
