The classy midfielder gave a commanding performance in Thursday night's superb win over Schalke 04 in Gelsenkirchen, and he now has eyes on staying at the top of the table after the Real Racing Club-PSG Draw ensured that City will go into the knock-out stages.
He says, "We want to win the group now because that gives us a theoretically easier tie in the knockout stage and means we have the second leg at home which is important.
"Every player helped each other last night. We defended together and worked really hard all over the pitch."
Now comes a swift return to Barclays Premier League action with a mouth-watering Manchester derby coming up on Sunday, and with two wins in a week Didi accepts he is not guaranteed a place in the starting line-up.
"I will have to see if I have done enough to play on Sunday.
"But it is not about individuals, we have a strong squad which means the manager has alternatives. We play as a squad and have to go forward as a squad."
