Get into shape with Getting Manchester Moving

It’s the last chance for City fans to find out where to get active before the festive season is upon us at the home game against Arsenal on November 22nd.

The Club’s registered charity City in the Community will put on pre-match activities such as boxing, inflatable target test, hockey and tai chi – suitable for anyone to participate, free of charge.

The Football Foundation is funding Getting Manchester Moving to organise match day activities, to encourage local Blues supporters to sample an activity they may not have done before.

Alex Williams MBE, CITC’s Director of Community Affairs, said: “This is a great opportunity for fans of all ages to take part in some fun activities before kickoff.”

“It’s a big game so the atmosphere will be great and it’s the last match day activity that will take place until next year.”

Various health stands and the Club’s health trainer will also be present on the day to offer free wellbeing advice. They will signpost fans to activities taking place in areas across Manchester.

Getting Manchester Moving is a unique partnership between Manchester City Football Club, Manchester Public Health Development Service and Manchester City Council.

The Football Foundation is the UK’s largest sports charity funded by the Premier League, The Football Association, Sport England and the Government. Their mission is to improve facilities, create opportunities and build communities throughout England.

Getting Manchester Moving is coming to the end of its second year. For information on activities taking place next year please visit www.gettingmanchestermoving.org.
