Hart determined to help get Blues back on track

Joe Hart is determined to put the Blues’ recent run of league form behind them this weekend as they make the trip to the KC Stadium to face Hull City.

Circumstances conspired against City last Sunday as the Redknapp revolution rolled on and Joe told us: “I think if you speak to anyone at Tottenham they’ll tell you we gave them a hell of a game.

“When we had 11 players on the pitch, we were dominant, although we didn’t have that for long.

“With 10-men we dug in, all got around each other and got on with the job, that’s what we had to do. You can’t dwell on it, just get on and try to win a football match.

“No-one likes losing obviously but we’d back ourselves to beat anyone and pick up the three points and if that doesn’t we’re disappointed. You’ve got to pick yourself up and get on with the job in hand.

“You can’t dwell on it and think, ‘we’re away from home so we’re going to lose,’ it’s pointless. We’re turning up to every game wanting to win and that’s the same for Sunday with three points up for grabs.

“We’ve been unlucky and I know it’s easy to say that but the main thing is to get results. Against Spurs we were down to 10-men early doors and lost 2-1 but it doesn’t matter how well we played we lost the lead. We need to covert our performances into winning performances.”

The Blues will be looking to put a stop to a run of three successive Barclays Premier League defeats when they take on Hull this Sunday and Hart insists that the determination is there to bounce back.

“We’ve got that in abundance at our Club,” he declared. “The lads all work for each other, there are no individuals and we’re hopefully going to grind out a result on Sunday.”

But Hart and his team mates will be without their captain in the Blues’ backline this weekend due to Richard Dunne’s one-game suspension and Joe added: “It’s a massive blow – he’s absolutely colossal for this Club – he is Manchester City.

“We’ve got other people who can come in and do just as good a job on Sunday, so hopefully they will do and we’ll get a result.”

But Hull have a match winner in their ranks familiar to City fans and players alike in Geovanni. Of the Blues’ former number eight, Joe stated: “He’s a special talent and I think all the lads were disappointed to see him go.

“He only had a one-year deal with us but he’s done ever so well at Hull this year and that’s no surprise to any of us really.

“There’s never going to be a positive reaction to us losing, especially with the run of results we’ve had, so I’m not surprised but at the same time I’m confident we can stick together and get through it.”
