David Robinson of Middleton has found a poster he 'borrowed' from a Dutch railway station in 1978 while having a clear-out at home this week, coincidentally just ahead of our UEFA Cup tie against FC Twente.
David was in the Netherlands 30 years ago for the first leg of City's game against the same opponents* and took the poster (pictured) home with him - and promptly lost it until this week - fate? Coincidence? Either way, he has very kindly donated it to the City Experience museum where it is now on display along with a host of other items from our journeys to the continent over the years.
If you are coming to the game on Thursday, why not drop in at the award-winning City Experience ahead of kick-off? Museum-only admission is £5 for adults & £3 concessions. Tours are available earlier in the day, with the last going at 4.30 pm (Adults £9.50, Concessions £6, Family £25).
*The tie in Enschede, held on 13/9/1978, ended 1-1, with Dave Watson getting the crucial away goal.
