Joe opens his Hart

The Sunday Express tell us...

'JOE'S GOT THE HART TO FIGHT OFF RIVALS'

Joe Hart can stop most things – but not talk of moneybags Manchester City replacing him with the likes of Gianluigi Buffon and Iker Casillas.

And, as he prepared to face Bolton at The Reebok today, Hart, 21, admitted that he knows all about the speculation but refuses to buckle.

He said: “There’s been talk of everyone, Buffon (Juventus), Casillas (Real Madrid). You can name anyone that’s good and they’lll be linked to City.

“Now there is always going to be speculation around this club because of all the money. If you worried about it you’d be lost. You’d make yourself dizzy. I’ve got to keep on doing what I’m doing and see how it all pans out. All the talk about the money that City has comes from outside the club rather than from inside.

“It’s easy for people outside to look in and say we’ve got millions and we’re going to take all the best players in the world and beat everyone.

“It’s not as simple as that though. Anyway it’s not the way we’re looking at it.”

Even with British record buy, £32million Robinho, City have blown hot and cold.

In the last week they crushed Stoke City with the Brazilian hitting a hat-trick only to lose 2-0 in midweek at Middlesbrough.

“With the quality we’ve got in the dressing room we should be beating more teams,” admitted Hart. “When a bad result happens it hurts everyone. We were all gutted after the Middlesbrough game. The only way we can get over that frustration is to win at Bolton.”

Hart has just signed a new five-year contract and those who saw a 15-year-old schoolboy called up as cover for Shrewsbury Town won’t be surprised by his progress into the England Under-21s and even the full England side.

“We were playing Exeter away and so I had to have a day off school on the Friday,” he recalled.

Now he just wants City and England to go places. “I’d love to be involved in this month’s friendly against Germany.

“I flew out to Belarus with David Wheater of Middlesbrough for England’s game last month. Robert Green went home and they needed a third keeper.

“We knew we were there just in case but at least boss Fabio Capello was thinking about us.”

The News of the World announce...

'CITY TO BREAK RECORD'

£35m to bring Aguero to Eastlands

MANCHESTER CITY will smash their own Premier League transfer record with a stunning £35million bid for Argentinian wonderkid Sergio Aguero.

Just weeks after splashing out £32m for Robinho, City will spend even bigger in January to land the 20-year-old Atletico Madrid striker.

City are already in talks with the Spanish club for the youngster, who many of Europe’s top coaches rate more highly than Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

It looks certain Mark Hughes will land the player in the January transfer window and thus sicken Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho.

The Italians were turned down when they offered £25m in the summer but City are now big favourites to land FIFA’s Young Player of the year in 2007.

A source close to the player confirmed: “City have already offered more than the £32m they paid for Robinho.

“Madrid turned down £24m from Inter in the summer but the cash offer has gone higher and higher from City.

“And just as they couldn’t hold on to Fernando Torres, Atletico know they can’t resist this sort of pressure.”

Aguero started his career at Independiente, becoming the youngest player to debut in the Argentine First Division at only 15 years and 35 days — breaking the record previously established by Diego Maradona.

'ONUOHA SEEKS CITY EXIT'

Defender pressing for January release

BLACKBURN want Manchester City right-back Nedum Onuoha when the transfer window opens in January.

Onuoha is growing increasingly disillusioned with his chances at City under Mark Hughes and Paul Ince wants to take the England Under-21 ace to Ewood Park to strengthen his squad.

Birmingham have also shown an interest, but a loan deal is more favourable to them as they fight to get out of the Championship.

And finally, the People says...

'Fulham set to sign Manchester City youngster'

Fulham lead the race to snap up Manchester City full-back Curtis Obeng. The 19-year-old youth international has been tipped for big things but following the recent cash injection on other players at Eastlands, Obeng's days look numbered.

Roy Hodgson is poised but Everton boss David Moyes is also keen.
