Everton Move To Loan Manchester City's Jo?

Everton boss Daivd Moyes is down to the bare bones as far as strikers are concerned. Going into this weekend's game with Manchester City, only Nigerian youngster Victor Anichebe is anything like fit, and he's been struggling with back problems this week.

With Aiyegbeni Yakubu out for the rest of the season, James Vaughan still awaiting knee surgery and Louis Saha recovering from a bad hamstring strain, Moyes options look bleak for the foreseeable future.

One possible solution that Moyes is considering, according to The Times, is making a move for Manchester City misfit Jo.

The Brazilian, signed from CSKA Moscow in July for £19 million, has had negligible impact in Manchester, scoring only three times this season and has played only 14 Premier League minutes since October 20.

A loan move could appeal to both City and Everton. Moyes has admitted that he would be looking for bargains in January as the Merseysiders have little cash to spend. Whilst City boss Mark Hughes has apparently little confidence in Jo's ability to adapt to the Premier League, and would favour the player gaining experience at another club, for nothing else, if only to increase his resale value.

Moyes has also been linked with Henrik Larsson, the former Celtic great, but that rumour was rubbished by Moyes last week. Everton have also reportedly been keeping tabs on Kléber, the Brazilian striker who is currently on loan from Dynamo Kiev to Palmeiras.
