Manchester City defender Micah Richards believes the side have turned a corner since their recent slump following the 5-1 demolition of Hull City on Boxing Day.
Speaking to Goal.com courtesy of his official website, MicahRichards.com, the youngster described the boost that the impressive win gave the squad in light of their recent run of nine games without a victory.
“It was a great way to round off a really good Christmas, and hopefully on the back of the win we can continue our form throughout the festive fixtures and climb the table,” he said.
"We played well across all positions against Hull I felt, and made a good side in Hull look ordinary.”
Having returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines last season, Richards' own form dipped slightly as he was used in several positions across the back-four, but he underlined the benefits to his own confidence that such an impressive result can bring, despite the fact that he was forced off with a hamstring injury at half-time.
“I was taken off to decrease the risk of injury as I felt a twitch in my hamstring,” he added.
“On a personal level, the win gave me a massive boost, and I’m really looking forward to the next game should I be fit.”
