Real Madrid have had an offer of £20million accepted for the Portsmouth midfielder, who last week spoke of his dream to play for the Bernabeu giants.
However, Mark Hughes remains keen to take the 23-year-old to Eastlands and is prepared to match Real’s bid, and Diarra could now be staying in the Premier League.
"I will not say anything. Football is complicated and anything could happen,” he told AS. "I cannot talk. I don't want to. They are calling me from England and France, but I will talk inside a few days."
