Fabio Grosso's agent has scotched speculation that the Lyon left-back is set for a January transfer to Manchester City.
The 31-year-old is the latest player to be linked with a move to the Premier League club since they were taken over by the Abu Dhabi United Group.
Grosso's agent admits the Italy defender is flattered by the news but insists he has had no contact with City.
"These rumours have also reached me,'' Danilo Caravello told calciomercatonews.com. "But I have not been contacted by anybody.
"It's true that Manchester City wants to invest a significant amount of money in the market and they are interested in major players such as (Gianluigi) Buffon.
"The fact that Fabio is being linked to such a prestigious club can do nothing but make the lad proud.''
However, Caravello claims the World Cup winner will remain at the seven-time reigning Ligue 1 champions for the time being.
"The team are achieving important results both in the league and in the Champions League,'' he added.
"I believe that, at least until the end of the season, the player will not move from Lyon. Obviously if a good offer arrived, things could change.''
