15th versus 10th in the Barclays Premier League today and for once it’s
not the Blues above Fulham as the two prepare to meet at Craven Cottage
this lunchtime.
But such is the nature of the league this season, a
City win will see them leapfrog the Londoners, despite their recent run
of good results.
Previewing today’s hosts Mark Hughes said: “Yes,
they’re playing well. They’ve had some really positive results against
the likes of Villa and Liverpool and I watched their game against
Tottenham.
“They’ve had to play games with a lot of pressure on them from the opposition but you can see there’s confidence in the side.
“It’s
a difficult place to go and always has been down at Fulham. They get
the crowd behind them and there’s always a good atmosphere. I’ve always
enjoy going down there, but it won’t be easy because they’ve got
players that have got a lot of experience in the Premier League.
“They’ve
been in and around the league for a long time and the two guys they
have up front, Johnson and Zamora are a handful for anybody, so it’s a
big test.
“They’re playing with confidence and I think that’s the
key with all form sides that if they’re playing well and getting the
ball down and passing well then they’re an accomplished Premier League
side and Fulham are no different.
“I think we’re under no illusions that it’s going to be an easy game – it certainly isn’t.”
