Hughes has brushed off the latest wild transfer speculation and says
that his plans for the January window remain unchanged.
Press
conjecture has settled on City making astronomical bids for several
players around Europe, but ignoring the speculation the Manager is
adamant he will go about business in a more considered manner.
On
recent stories, Hughes says: “People have to get used to that, it will
get worse before it gets better, but that’s just where we are at the
moment. That will happen, there will be people who think they can jump
in the middle of things they think they can create artificially. If we
are going to do business in January, we will do it ourselves. We don’t
need people who can say they have instigated a big deal, we can do that
ourselves thank you very much.
“Most managers look to strengthen
in January, if they can’t they will keep their powder dry until the
summer. We may be in a position to do deals that strengthen the squad,
but if the opportunities don’t arise we’ll look to the summer. But it
won’t distract from what we have to do, which is win more games in the
Premier League.
aggravated, but I’m not surprised because people are trying to
manipulate situations for their own ends. We take it all with a pinch
of salt, if there’s any business to be done we will do it ourselves.”
