It's not just superstars in the mega-millions category who've been linked with cash-rich Manchester City; Hull City's highly-rated centre-back Michael Turner is one of the lower-profile players rumours to be on Mark Hughes' wish-list.
The 25-year-old beanpole defender - originally signed from Brentford in 2006 for a modest £350,000 fee - has impressed in his debut Premier League campaign and reports have suggested that City are leading the chase to sign him - perhaps as soon as January.
However, Turner signed a new three-year deal in April and has declared that City or any other club wouldn't interest him, as he's perfectly happy at the KC Stadium.
"There’s been a lot of talk about me going to Manchester City and a few other clubs have been mentioned," Turner told his own official website. "Apparently Hull have put a £10 million price tag on me.
"I have no idea whether the rumours are true, but it’s nice to know the club value me.
"I can assure the fans that I have no attention of going anywhere. I’m just concentrating on giving my all for Hull."
As far as January is concerned, putting the potential to earn silly wages at Eastlands aside, perhaps Turner is being sensible. The Tigers are sixth in the league, some nine points ahead of City, who have fallen into the relegation zone.
