Manager Jim Cassell has praised a 'mature' performance from the Blues
Under 18 as they opened their defence of the FA Youth Cup with a 3-0
victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
“That was just the start we were looking for," beamed Cassell after the comfortable win in Wales.
"We
knew we would be faced with a stern test by Swansea and we produced a
mature and accomplished performance capped by two well taken goals.
“If I had a slight criticism it was that we could have had more goals, but it was a fine start to this year’s campaign.”
City
now face a wait of a couple of weeks until the fourth round draw
with the majority of the third round ties taking place next week. The
draw won't include Manchester United's youngsters though who were
beaten 3-2 by last season's losing finalists Chelsea at Old Trafford.
Another big third round tie sees Arsenal travelling to Aston Villa.
