Kolo Toure To Leave Arsenal For Manchester City?

The Sun, that institution of insight, claims that Manchester City are hoping to sign Kolo Toure from Arsenal during the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Emirates this season, with Arsene Wenger usually preferring William Gallas, Mikael Silvestre and even Johan Djourou in the centre of defence.

Thus, City manager Mark Hughes is eager to exploit the Ivory Coast stalwart's unrest by offering him first-team football and a hefty pay-cheque in the North West.

"Kolo has been completely marginalised by Arsene Wenger this season," an anonymous source at Eastlands supposedly said.

"Mark has made no secret he rates Kolo very highly and strengthening his defence is his main priority.

"City have been linked with a number of players but Kolo is Mark’s prime target and he hopes a deal can be done quickly if the clubs agree a fee."

It is thought the Sky Blues will open the bidding at £10 million.
