Kompany backs Blues to bounce back

City
midfielder Vincent Kompany has added his frustration to that felt
within the Blues’ camp following yesterday’s injury time defeat to
Everton.

Tim Cahill’s late header sent his team back down the M62
with an unlikely three point haul and afterwards Kompany told us: “It
was one of those nights and it was a bit frustrating at the end but as
a group we have to learn out of this situation.

“It’s hard, but the only way to deal with it is to keep our heads up and work hard in training and focus on the next game.

“We’ve
had it against Liverpool and the last thing we should do is start
doubting in ourselves. We still believe strongly and I’m sure the next
game will confirm the fact that mentally we are strong.”

And as
Everton arrived at CoMS with no recognised strikers a look at the team
sheet prior to kick-off suggested that Moyes’ men had set up for an
away point. But after a lively first half 0-0 looked an unlikely
scoreline as Kompany added:

“I think if you look at the game and
the chances created, Everton could have scored before, but we had our
chances to score as well.

“It could have been 1-1 or 2-2 but a draw would have been a fair result. The goal in the last minute was a bit too much.

“With
a little bit of luck we would have scored the first goal and then that
happens with them getting a goal in the last minute from a set piece.
That is the first thing a coach says can’t happen. It is frustrating
but we have to learn from this.”
