Robinho Faces Fitness Race Ahead Of Manchester City's Everton Clash

Manchester City superstar Robinho has been struggling to overcome an ankle problem, having last featured in the Manchester derby defeat at the hands of United at the tail end of November.

The mega-money Brazilian forward hasn't even resumed full training yet, but boss Mark Hughes is still hoping he'll be fit enough to line up against Everton on Saturday.

Speaking about the Toffees' visit to Eastlands, Welshman Hughes revealed, "Robinho hasn't trained today. He hasn't trained with the group all week and we will keep him back one more day.

"He has got a little bit of discomfort when he sprints at full pace, so we are trying to resolve that and, hopefully, he will train tomorrow.

"He's so explosive and this injury has really compromised him.

"It's just the one sore point we are trying to resolve, though. If we can do that, then he will be able to play some part (against Everton)."

The gaffer went on to say that Robinho hasn't trained properly for "two or three weeks."

Defender Nedum Onuoha could return after a six-week absence, but Micah Richards, Javier Garrido and Daniel Sturridge are all doubtful due to various complaints.
