we’ve selected.

the big screens at the City of Manchester Stadium this Saturday during
the half time interval as City take on Everton.
So in the meantime, you can see our choices below, or watch the compilation of our best goals by signing into www.MCFCTV.com and vote now by clicking here >
The
vote continues until Christmas Eve with the best goal to date being
announced at the Boxing Day game between Manchester City and Hull City
at CoMS.
The selected 10 goals are as follows:
1. Daniel Sturridge v West Ham (August 24, 2008)
After
Mark Noble's first half red card, the visitors did their best to keep
the Blues out, but the deadlock was broken on 65 minutes as Danny
Sturridge thrashed in his first goal of the season.
It came
about after Tal Ben-Haim fed Elano, who in turn gave the ball to
Sturridge to hold up well before playing in Petrov to whip in a
dangerous left wing cross. Upson’s attempted clearance fell to
Sturridge and he made no mistake from about 12-yards out.
2. Elano's second v West Ham (August 24, 2008)
With
the Hammers' resolve broken twice in five minutes, Elano made it three
and easy for City, following another patient Blues build up.
Tal
Ben-Haim again brought the ball out from the back and found Stephen
Ireland. The silky midfielder then played a great one-two with Vedran
Corluka before pulling back a fine cross from the right for Elano to
calmly side foot volley the ball in and seals all three points in the
process.
3. Shaun Wright-Phillips’ second v Sunderland (August 31, 2008)
Just
before the hour mark at the Stadium of Light, Vincent Kompany and
Michael Ball linked up for the left back to play a good long pass for
SWP to latch on to and produce a delicate finish from seven-yards out.
It that gave both goalkeeper and covering defender no chance as Wrighty
rounded off a fine first game in his second coming to make it 3-0.
4. Robinho v Chelsea (September 13, 2008)
Surely the best moment of the season and the most apt time to chant 'We've got Robinho!'
After
a rousing atmosphere ahead of kick-off, in what was the first home game
since the takeover by Sheikh Mansour, the roof almost came off CoMS 13
minutes in as the Brazilian, who had seemed destined for Chelsea, left
Petr Cech standing with a lovely free kick.
5. Jo v Portsmouth (September 21, 2008)
A
goal made in Brazil scored in Manchester. Elano picked up the ball in
midfield and gave it to Robinho who ran on and slipped a great pass in
for Jo. With David James flying out of his area the striker skipped
around the former City keeper and finished well to give the Blues a
13th minute lead in what proved to be a rout of Redknapp's (then) men.
6. Shaun Wright-Phillips v Portsmouth (September 21, 2008)
Goal
number four of six on the day was a fantastically well worked team goal
involving eight City players in a 12 pass move before SWP emphatically
blasted beyond his former team mate James.
7. Stephen Ireland v Liverpool (October 5, 2008)
The
Blues were out of the blocks well and not giving the Merseysider's any
time on the ball and it was through SWP's pressure that the opening
goal came on 19 minutes.
He stole possession from the full back
before finding Jo in the area, he was tackled by two defenders, but
Wright-Phillips dug out a cross to Robinho and as the ball sat up the
onrushing Stephen Ireland smashed the ball home on the volley.
8. Javi Garrido v Liverpool (October 5, 2008)
Many
Blues in the stands wondered what was coming next as four minutes
before the break usual free kick specialists Elano and Robinho stood
aside for Garrido to take the kick 20-odd yards from goal. But their
faith paid off as the former Spanish Under 21 wrapped the ball past
Reina's left hand to double the lead.
9. Stephen Ireland's second v Hull City (November 16, 2008)
It
was another vital goal by the Irishman who is enjoying a fine season.
This time it gave City a 2-1 lead at the KC Stadium just before half
time after coming from an early goal down.
Ben-Haim broke up a
Tigers' attack, found Kompany, who spread play to Garrido a one-two
with Robinho followed before the full back found Ireland on the edge of
the box. He took one touch to control and a second to curl a beautiful
effort into the far corner of the goal.
10. Robinho v Arsenal (November 22, 2008)
After
Arsenal threatened to get back into the game in the early stages of the
second half Wright-Phillips broke from midfield and played in
delightful ball in behind the Gunners' backline for Robinho to
seemingly effortlessly lift the ball over a stunned Almunia on 56
minutes.
