Mark Hughes has admitted the focus is on his side after yesterday's 2-1 defeat at West Bromwich Albion but insists the Blues can't dwell on things and is backing himself and his team to come good.
The Manager told us: “We can’t stop that because there’s a huge focus on everything that surrounds Manchester City and that focus has been there since the new owners took over. It’s always been in the background and maybe just of late it’s starting to have a negative impact on the team itself, which is a worry, obviously.
“We can’t dwell on what’s gone on. We need to be positive and look ahead to the games we have in front of us. It’s a disappointment because we certainly felt we should have got something out of the game but as it was we weren’t able to.
“That’s how it seems to be going at the moment. We seem to be making fundamental errors at key moments in the games. Irrespective of what opposition you are up against in the Premier League, if good players get opportunities, then they are going to punish you.
"That’s what’s happening and we’ve got to cut out those errors and once we do that we can build performances and results. But at the moment we’re finding it difficult in that respect."
As are the supporters who have shown their frustration at how games have gone over the last week, but Hughes added: “There’s frustration because everybody wants us to be successful and at the moment it’s not happening as quickly as people would like. That’s because really the expectation is unrealistic in fairness. It’s all about being positive and making sure that we understand where we are and where we want to go.
“Every management job in the Premier League is a challenge and it’s a huge responsibility but I know my work ethic and the work ethic of my staff will turn this around.
"We know what we do works and it takes time to change the mentality and the culture of a club but when we do then we’ll be successful over a sustained period. At the moment it’s a little bit indifferent as we know but we’ll change it around."
