Boss & Bellamy on the same wavelength

Craig
Bellamy has given a revealing insight into his relationship with Mark
Hughes, one which helped influence his decision to join the Blues.

The
striker has revealed that the Manager leaves no stone unturned in his
preparations, and having worked with him for Wales and at Blackburn
Rovers, Craig thinks that life at City will suit him perfectly.

"He's
incredible," Craig declares about the manager. "Nothing goes unnoticed
or goes amiss. He expects high standards of every player in training
and off the field he wants the workplace to be a top place to be, and
an enjoyable place to work.

"He wants to know that you mean
business and he expects players to be provided for like you would not
believe so that there are no excuses when you take the field. Us
footballers, we will find an excuse! Someone once told me that players
would take the milk from your tea - and it's true!

"I enjoy
playing for the gaffer, he makes sure that no player has an excuse on
the pitch because everything has been taken care of. You are just left
to perform at the standards that he expects of you. For me, that makes
a lot of sense."

Bellamy, 29, also took time to pay tribute to
the manager who he worked with most recently at Upton Park, saying:
"They were probably the best terms that I have left a club on. This was
a great opportunity for me, West Ham got a very good deal and I still
speak to Gianfranco Zola. We get on very well, he wanted to keep
pushing and improving me, and I have so much respect for him."

And
his new club manager says of his new acquisition: "Craig is the
strongest I have seen him, I have worked with him before at Blackburn
and he scored around 20 goals for me in that season. We had to manage
the injuries that he had to enable him to play, but right now he is as
strong as he has been and we have signed an exceptionally gifted
player."
