Manchester City Eye £32m Triple Swoop - Report

Manchester City are close to splashing out £32 million on Roque Santa Cruz, Craig Bellamy and Scott Parker, if a report in The Sun is to prove correct.

Mark Hughes’ men have been linked with a move for all three players in recent weeks, but the tabloid claims that a deal for the trio will be finalised by the end of the next week.

Paraguayan striker Santa Cruz has long been linked with a move to Eastlands, to be reunited with former boss Mark Hughes who has hardly disguised his interest in the player.

The Sun claims that he will be followed by the West Ham United pair of Scott Parker and Craig Bellamy who will cost a combined fee of £17 million.

The Hammers have already admitted they are willing to consider offers for their players but will undoubtedly be dismayed if they are to lose both Parker and Bellamy who are considered key players at Upton Park.

Yet the paper reports that both Bellamy and Parker are keen on moves to Manchester City, and if that should prove to be correct, it seems unlikely that West Ham will be able to prevent them leaving.

City began their January spending yesterday when they agreed a fee with Chelsea for full back Wayne Bridge.

However, it appears their spending is unlikely to stop there. The Citizens have also been linked with moves for Kolo Toure, Shay Given and Matthew Upson in recent days.

Whilst it remains uncertain which, if any, of the rumoured players will arrive at Eastlands, the only certainty appears to be that several new players will be joining Robinho and co in January.
