Manchester City Hand Hughes £100m For January - Report

According to The Sun, Manchester City manager Mark Hughes will have around £100 million to play with during the January transfer period.

The club's cashed-up owners, the Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG), have put their faith in the Welshman even though the Sky Blues currently sit just two points clear of the relegation zone.

That means Hughes should have no problems meeting Blackburn Rovers' demands for Roque Santa Cruz, the Paraguayan striker who is reportedly ready to end his whirlwind stint at Ewood Park.

Chelsea defender Wayne Bridge, Arsenal stopper Kolo Toure, West Ham United forward Craig Bellamy and Newcastle United goalkeeper Shay Given are thought to rank high among Sparky's local targets.

From abroad, Villarreal's Marcos Senna has been repeatedly linked with a move to Eastlands, but the Brazilian-born midfielder has laughed off such speculation. Bayern Munich's Philipp Lahm has also been mentioned.

Hughes may find it tough to lure top-class stars to City considering their place in the Premier League standings, but there is no doubt a kitty full of cash will help things along considerably.
