Manchester City need to set sights higher in transfer window

This week Phill Jupitus is joined by Gabriele Marcotti, Alyson Rudd and Matt Hughes.

- Mark Hughes won't be sacked by Manchester City despite Nottingham Forest's giant-killing act but the team need to improve by the summer.

- Matt Hughes says it would be foolish for City to sign Craig Bellamy and Scott Parker as they are not Champions League quality, but Gabriele Marcotti disagrees about Parker and reckons the holding midfielder would improve the team's defensive failings.

- Details of cost-cutting measures at Chelsea are revealed as Roman Abramovich starts efforts to make the club break even by 2012.

- Gabriele reveals Carlo Cudicini's love of collecting ancient manuscripts and explains that it is the reason why he is happy to sit on the bench. Apparently being the No 2 goalkeeper at Chelsea is worth more to him than being No 1 elsewhere.

- And it doesn't have to be all doom and gloom at West Ham. The size of their squad means they can offload some of the top wage earners but still retain enough quality, especially with the likes of Kieron Dyer returning to fitness.
