Reserves downed by Wigan

David Ball's
opener wasn't enough to help City's Barclays Premier Reserve League
North side overcome Wigan and go top of the table tonight as they went
down 2-1 at Robin Park.

In a poor game played in poor conditions,
City took the lead just on the hour mark as Ball pounced from close
range, but a debatable Tomasz Cywka penalty 15 minutes from time
levelled it up after the referee decided the Pole had been felled by
Tal Ben-Haim.

As for Joe Holt's winner on 82 minutes, Academy
keeper Joe Clegg who played well all night, could do nothing about the
fine curler from the edge of the box.

So despite a disappointing
night for the Blues, Tal Ben-Haim pressed his claims to replace the
suspended Richard Dunne for the up and coming first team matches the
skipper will miss, as he came through the 90 minutes without any
problems.
