The luckless Bulgaria striker has missed the whole season after damaging his achilles during the warm-up for the opening Premier League match of the campaign at Aston Villa.
Having recovered from the knee ligament injury that blighted his previous season after joining City from Fiorentina, Bojinov was looking keen and sharp with a fine performance in the pre-season clash with AC Milan.
Seen as a valuable acquisition when he was prised from Serie A, a fully-fit Bojinov will be a welcome addition to Mark Hughes' strike force with the demanding last third of the season sure to test squad strength to the full.
Glyn Hodges' otherwise young reserve side, which kicks off at 7pm, also includes goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who travels with the senior squad to his native Denmark tomorrow for the UEFA Cup tie at FC Copenhagen.
