Elano & Robinho on target for Brazil

City’s Brazilian stars were in sublime form for their country at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

Elano
& Robinho lined up against Italy and a goal apiece from the pair
saw Dunga’s side to victory. The two combined to set Elano up for
Brazil’s opener, a swift move involving an Elano back heel finishing
with the playmaker giving Buffon absolutely no chance. Robinho grabbed
the second after dispossessing Pirlo, baffling the defence with some
fancy footwork before drilling the ball home with his left foot.

Elsewhere,
Micah Richards played the first half of England Under 21s friendly
against Ecuador in Malaga. It was all going well for Stuart Pearce’s
side, who led 2-0 at the break, but following Micah’s substitution
Ecuador hit back to level the scores. Micah’s City team mate Felipe
Caicedo sealed the comeback with eight minutes to go, condemning the
Young Lions to defeat for the first team in three years.

Two City
youngsters featured for the England Under 19 side in their 3-0 defeat
to Spain at Dean Court in Bournemouth, Kieran Trippier starting the
game at right back and Andrew Tutte coming on as a second-half
substitute. However it was not a great night for the midfielder, who
was sent off just a few minutes after coming on.
