Manchester City Readying Triple Transfer Assault For John Terry, Kolo Toure, & Joleon Lescott

A three-pronged transfer bid for Chelsea's Terry, Arsenal's Toure, and Everton's Lescott, could be on the cards...
Manchester City's intent to force their way into England's Champions League qualification spots appears to be gathering credence, according to a new report in The Times.

The respected broadsheet intimates that - by the end of August - the club will have scooped Chelsea and England captain John Terry, Ivorian international Kolo Toure, and Everton defender Joleon Lescott, in a deal expected to exceed £100 million.

The Times speculates that the hardest coup to complete will be landing the signature of highly-rated Terry, even though the player's continued silence indicates an apparent willingness to at least hold talks with the Premier League's latest fiscal superpower.

Toure, meanwhile, is deemed to be the likeliest of the three targets to sign terms first, as the Arsenal centre-back - a key cog in the club's "Invincibles" season - is perceived to have moved down the pecking order at N5, with Arsene Wenger's Belgian acquisition Thomas Vermaelen deemed the ideal partner for former captain William Gallas.

Everton manager David Moyes' pursuit of Hull City defender Michael Turner, meanwhile, is believed to be a sign that the determined Scot is willing to cash-in on Lescott.
