Jose Mourinho reckons that Manchester City’s new signings will see them win the Premier League next season.
The Citizens have bagged a series of top names this summer including Roque Santa Cruz, Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez and Gareth Barry.
They are also still believed to be chasing Chelsea captain John Terry, and speaking about the Sky Blues, Mourinho insisted their strike force could see them clinch the title.
“Adebayor up front with Carlos Tevez – unbelievable,” he told the News of the World.
“And they have Roque Santa Cruz and Robinho too. What a strike force! That's it, City are champions for sure.”
Mourinho, who guided Chelsea to two Premier League titles during his time at Stamford Bridge, also defended City’s big-spending tactics.
“It's not buying the title,” he insisted.
“You buy the players you think can do the job but you still need to prove you are the best - the best coach, the best team and that's tough and no amount of money can buy that.”
The Inter coach also refused to discuss the current speculation surrounding his former club, and Terry in particular, and insisted his heart was now in Milan.
“This is my club now - I love Inter,” he added, before insisting he had no interest in the Terry saga: “It is not my club so it is not my problem. I don't care.”
